Here I am on "The Morning Mix" in April 2004. I wrote this to the tune of "Surfin' U.S.A." in a parody songwriting contest to win free tickets to see Weird Al. One of the unfortunate stipulations is you had to perform it on this show if you won. My only "parody song"... my mom was pretty excited. Four little hobbits and a wizard An elf, a dwarf, and a king The eldest son of the steward He tried to take the ring Frodo used it and vanished And then he slipped away Boromir was pierced with arrows Frodo ran away He ran away from Gollum From whom the Ring he "stole" He ran away from Nazgul Nine kings of men of old He fled before the Witch-King And his skull-head crown In the face of evil From ran away Strider had a royal blood line He was from the North He led the ships into Gondor And reclaimed the throne Sam and Frodo got captured Then were led away To a secret hideout Frodo ran away He ran away from Balrogs Evil shadow and flame Ran away from Shelob Wouldn't play her game Felt the Eye of Sauron Every single day In the land of Mordor Frodo ran way In the land of Mordor Frodo ran way In the land of Mordor Frodo ran way
