In the early 90s the world looked down on digital cameras, with the photographers going "It will never be as good as film, I will NEVER switch". Now it's difficult to find one in a million who uses film apart from nostalgic or experimental value.
Why then did the electric car not go the similar route. The electric car technology was growing since the 70s and 80's and by 90's it was at par with the IC (internal combustion) engine cars, except for a few issues...battery, charge etc. but by now, another 20yrs have passed....you really think electric is behind IC in any way?
 
But then WHY is it not mainstream...and what will it take to be mainstream...
