The opposition political parties have asked Government to table a supplementary budget to allocate money for salaries and the welfare of the health workers. In a joint media briefing by three opposition parties at Najjanankumbi, Kampala, the leaders want the supplementary budget to act as a medium short-term solution. This comes at a time when doctors and other health workers are on a sit-down strike over little pay and poor working conditions.
