The use of card readers for the 2015 General Elections in Nigeria no longer an option but a necessity towards enhancing the credibility and deepening the Nations electoral process. Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission Professor Attahiru Jega stated this while briefing the senate on the preparedness of the commission for the conduct of the rescheduled elections in the country.
