Maharashtra has started work of Virdi dam. The matter is in the court and without permissions, the work of Virdi dam has commenced. Environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar has brought this to the notice of Govt, and has asked to initiate action at the earliest. 
He said this work at the dam can have adverse effect on water supply projects at Sankhali, Padoshem. 
As per the site engineer, this work is only for 2 months. Proper work will start from next year he said.
