Seminal song for me. Memories of having a tiny radio in Lower School and avidly listening to Johnnie Walker announcing the new charts and playing the number one on Tuesday lunchtimes. Loved this song, the idea of peeping through a bathroom door and seeing the sister in the raw. Had a copy of The Most Collection album which featured the CCS track. Also got turned on to early Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart and The Animals.

Also brings back a memory of playing rugby on cold dank early winter days and waterlogged pitches behind the school. Odd.

I never really listened to the meaning behind the words until singing it for this mashup. Now I can see it as a song of motivation - whatever it is that you want to do, you better get up and do it now. And don't fear to fail - you learn from the doing and you can always try again if you screw up. It's also a song of independence - you have to forge your own path to growth, irrespective of what others might think. Don't follow the crowd - the crowd might not have it right. Sounds definitely me at that age - I had absolute belief that I was totally right in my views which was usually against what the general world at large tended to think. Still do in many respects, especially on environmental and spiritual issues. Skeptic and cynic - but still seeing amazing beauty on this planet and frustrated that the human species is going to kill it off. The world is a wonderful place - is just that its people sometimes suck. We are all acorns that can grow into forests when the tap gets turned on. Don't let life pass by without watching forests grow and riding rivers!!

On the tech side, couldn't find any backing music anywhere so I reworked the original and cut and pasted the track to remove the vocal. Hence a little choppy in places. Better than the usual trick of reversing the phase though still not ideal. But it sure was a lot of fun. Thanks for listening!
