Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is still reccovering from a gunshot wound to her head which she suffered January 8th while campainging in her home district in the western state of Arizona. At news conference on January 11th, Giffords' doctors said they are still "cautiously optimistic" about her survival. But that survival is still fraught with danger. VOA's Carol Pearson spoke with a neurosurgeon who has treated gunshot wounds to the head.
