Haut Koenigsbourg castle is a massive fortification dating back to the Middle Ages in the nearby Alsace region. This castle served as inspiration for the movies 'Howl's Moving Castle' by Hayao Myasaki and the 'Citadel of Minas Tirith' from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
