The Shinjuku District Heating and Cooling Center is one of the largest facilities of its kind. It centrally manages air conditioning for buildings in the busy Shinjuku region of Tokyo. Hitachi Appliances designed and manufactured the chiller, the device that serves as the core of the system. When the time came to replace this chiller, the Center’s operators asked Hitachi to develop an even more efficient model. Over several months and numerous tests, the engineers from Hitachi met the challenge. Their technical expertise and teamwork made it possible.
