This is one of those pieces that has an appeal to many of us at one time or another in our lives. Certainly on some days this world seems made of woe. But all the GOOD things happen here too... Anyway.... This is a more recent recording, and not as good quality as the tracks from my CD (which were made using better mics, professionally recorded & mastered, etc.), but still better than what my video camera produced. I apologize for the intermittent rattling sounds: it's the beads on the strap of my panpipes. (Got to figure out how to do something about that.) The echoes are added using Audacity. It's just NOT the real thing, but I've done some experimenting & am somewhat more pleased with the results. I'm a poor wayfaring stranger While traveling through this world of woe Yet there's no sickness, toil, or danger In that bright world to which I go I'm going there to see my Father I'm going there no more to roam I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home I know dark clouds will hang 'round me, I know my way is rough and steep Yet beauteous fields lie just before me Where God's redeemed their virgils keep I'm going there to see my mother She said she'd meet me when I come I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home.
