There have been lot of debates on the quality of education. Some say that the quality has gone down over the years while some argue otherwise. What we lacked was a concrete evidence indicating whether the quality of education is bad, poor or below average. The outcome of the recent preliminary examination results on PROGRAMME FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ASSESSMENT or PISA-D, was below average. While this result alone cannot gauge the quality of education it gives us some indication that the quality of education, as per the international standards, is indeed poor.
