Philadelphia Zoo Okapi Trotting

Well, he's almost trotting. He is moving around a little more than usual in this video. (If you are observant, you can see he does something else, too, at one point.) And you can see that okapis are indeed related to giraffes by the watching the way they walk. Actually, this moving both legs on one side and then both legs on the other side is called pacing, I believe, even though it is not the same kind of pacing other animals sometimes do. This okapi is one of the most peaceful, gentle animals in the Zoo. I used to love to go in the Pachyderm House late in the afternoon and see him up closer. But, inside or outside, it is always funny to hear the visitors try to pronounce "okapi". They almost never pronounce it correctly the first time.
