The political war over the Periyar statue attack escalated in the state of Tamil Nadu with DMK staging a massive protest in Saidapet in Chennai after a statue of Periyar, father of the Dravidian movement has been damaged in Tirupattur town of Tamil Nadu. The Statue politics further spread to West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh with the destruction of Syam Prasad Mukherjee and BR Ambedkar respectively.
