This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Serenity Ranso talks about the journey of going through hormone replacement therapy.

Serenity Ranso, I am 24 and a proud parent to my two-year old son. I am happy to be a trans-woman two years into the journey of hormone replacement therapy. I am a mother, a student, a gamer, a day-dreamer, a romantic, a philosopher, a spiritualist, an advocate for equality and for those in poverty, and a therapist in the making. I am also a public speaker and a grateful, recovering, addict/alcoholic. I love to learn new things, and I wish to give hope to those who are struggling, hence my psych major. All in all, I am just another human being trying to make a difference. Life is too short not to love one’s self and others.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
