The Latter Rains מלקוש (Malkosh) in Jerusalem on Monday March 28, 2016. This was filmed at the Tayelet (Promende) overlooking the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives. The latter rains in Israel mark the last phase of the Biblical Winter חרף (Choref), before the onset of the dry season, the Biblical Summer קיץ (Kayitz). Song of Songs 2:11 refers to this last phrase of Winter as Stav סתו (Late Winter), which in Modern Hebrew has taken on the exact opposite meaning (Autumn). The Former Rains יורה (Yoreh) take place in September-October at the beginning of the rainy season, whereas the Latter Rains מלקוש (Malkosh) take place in March-April at the end of the rainy season.
