His comments come Friday from Oval office as the Senate begun a procedural vote to take up a House-passed bill that would pay for Trump's border wall and avert a partial shutdown. Trump said during a bill signing event, there's "tremendous enthusiasm" for border security -- "the barrier, wall or steel slats -- it's all the same." Senators were being recalled to Washington days before Christmas after having already passed a bipartisan package that continues existing border security funding, at $1.3 billion, but without new money for Trump's wall. Both the House and Senate packages would extend government funding through Feb. 8, all but guaranteeing another standoff once Democrats take control of the House in the New Year.
