It’s a good thing that A.I Corp were able to design a nano-chip that was perfectly capable of interfacing with an alien computer system so we can activate the auto-pilot and fly it out of a hanger and back to A.I Corp for them to examine. In fact, it’s a good thing that the aliens have auto-pilot functions at all - a convenience that I guess is used galaxy-wide that we can take advantage of - not to mention ship systems simple enough that HAVOC unit can go about fixing them with no engineering experience whatsoever. All we need to do is work our way through the alien infested corridors of the spaceship and reactivate the engines alone without getting ourselves killed and we’ll have finished our first mission, A.I Corp’s first step towards taking the fight back to the aliens. It certainly won’t be their last, but every step in the right direction is a good thing.

That we have objectives which move beyond ‘get to the exit’ is something I haven’t said is awesome enough. Though the ultimate objective of each level is unchanged from other FPS experiences of the time and do achieve the objectives you do have to eliminate most if not all threats in your way, but adding the extra things that we need to do gives CyClones that little bit more depth. It makes you feel like you’re actually on missions rather then just clearing out level after level because that’s what you do in such games, making the experience that little more more immersive. For that I commend the game, though I don’t commend how hit-and-miss the hit detection is sometimes. If that was always a part of the game or a result of DOSBOX emulation I couldn’t say, but it’s certainly not unmanageable.
