Finally! After a week of thick cloud cover and gloomy skies, we had a small opening this afternoon. More clouds are on the way though. Now, this Sunspot which is renumbered 12687 has taken so many trips around the Sun that I've lost count. The one that had been following along behind & up above it, seems to have fizzled out now. 12:12pm, Friday 11/17/17, NE Ohio, 47°F - Southern Sky ~Jayling (Ohio is in the Eastern Time Zone) -Nikon P900 with 83x optical zoom & 166x dynamic fine digital zoom super telephoto Nikkor lens: -Homemade Solar Filter using Thousand Oaks Optical Solar Filter Film (inexpensive from Amazon), some cardboard and tape.
