Police have seized a quantity of narcotics, firearms, and ammunition, stolen vehicles as well as police and army uniforms in the southern division. The items were seized during an exercise conducted by the Special Operation Response Team (S.O.R.T.) in the Pleasantville district. Several people were also arrested during the exercise which, up to news time, was ongoing. Meanwhile, Police officers discovered packaged marijuana, with an estimated street value of TT $65,000, during an anti-crime exercise in Northern Division on Monday. Acting on intelligence gathered, a party of officers went to a bushy area along Acono Road, Maracas, St. Joseph where a search was conducted and resulted in the discovery of a large black garbage bag. Checks revealed that the bag contained 12 brown packets each containing marijuana. The drug weighed 6.5 kilograms.
