TopGear Mclaren F1 vs Bugatti Veyron Drag Race: A likely scenario

A comparison between the accelerations analyses of the Bugatti Veyron (in Dubai/Police chase) and the Mclaren F1 XP5 on ehra lessein showed some very interesting results: It yielded striking similarities with the scene that played out in topgear:

1. The mclaren f1 was a few metres ahead of the veyron at first.
2. At about 220-240kmh the bugatti started to gain on the mclaren.
3. At about 270kmh - 1km mark, the bugatti overtook the f1.
4. the f1 remained just a few metres behind the veyron, and finished the mile a split second behind the veyron.

This comparison shows how the mclaren and the bugatti might have accelerated.

A few notes:
The dubai driver screwd up the launch, just as Hammond did with the veyron with launch control off. the result is 0-100kmh in 3.6s, and the f1 to get a few meteres ahead. The guys who drove the veyrons were also not pro drivers (amatuers like hammond)

The F1 took about 50m to 100kmh. I measured a video of the f1's launch to get this figure.

The mclaren f1 was probably ALOT faster on the drag with an experienced PRO driver behind the wheel, much like the stig and andy wallace, who both raced with lemans. All the other drivers (of car mags) who posted far inferior accelerations were either journalists or professional drivers , not at Andy Wallace's caliber.  For example: The japan test of f1 was the fastest test, the driver actually wheelspun the f1 in 1st gear, and then shortshifted to 6th at 270kmh (vs 290kmh). A driver who can properly handle the throttle and gearing of the f1 would not waste revs and vital seconds on that.
