The word “Fure” is a blend of the words “Fire” and “Pure” – the story of my journey and sound. As a boy I fought to replicate every radio song on my nylon string guitar. It took years of gruelling work to become comfortable with my own voice and to feel at home in my own skin. To become proficient in electronic production, to master the techniques of synthesis and to craft the sounds that I had in my head – seemed a near impossible feat. I spent years working in my little recording studio, emulating and creating, building and destroying, shaping and creating. And the tenacity and forbearance eventually bore fruit. Fure takes one on a special journey characterized by luscious house lead lines and anthemic vocal drops. Think of tropical house artists such as Kygo and remember the anthemic highs of Imagine Dragons. Producing in Cape Town and growing up in Durban, Fure is purely South African with the familiar flavours of our favourite radio hits.
