WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP-- A man is in custody currently being questioned by investigators after a hit and run accident. It happened in Washington Township around 3:00 Tuesday morning along Governor's Square. The man deputies are questioning now was found a few blocks away on Millwheel Drive after he fled the scene. The sergeant says the driver was heading West on Governor's Square. The driver then smashed into a parked car and took off. When deputies arrived on the scene the driver was nowhere to be found, after a brief search police found him near a dead end. He was taken into custody and is being questioned by deputies this morning. The sergeant tells us the man that they found did have an odor of alcohol on his breath. Deputies also had a communication barrier because the man they found does not speak English and did not have an ID on him. The vehicle the person was driving was licensed to a landscaping business in Washington Township. Right now, the sergeant is not disclosing the business' name.
