Ananth Ramesh, an aerospace engineer from Team Indus, focussed on the subject of Space Exploration. The talk mainly revolved around the position of India in the world wrt. space exploration and the legitimacy of its space exploration activities. It might be a general belief that India lacks in technology related to space exploration but recent enterprises by groups like Team Indus have proven that India can compete with the world in the area of aerospace technology.  It was said that legitimacy of space exploration for countries like India mainly lies in two facts. One of them being that such explorations push the boundaries of the possible for humanity and that is a big deal for the confidence of any culture. The second and a more practical benefit of space exploration lie in the advancements in everyday technology that are induced by the space exploration research.

Ananth is a structural designer. The work entails analysis and optimisation of the entire spacecraft and design of brackets. He is a master from Cranfield University in Aerospace vehicle design.
He is a part of Team Indus. Team Indus is in the Google Lunar X Prize to send a spacecraft to the moon and send back HD images. He is also into making satellites.
