Britney Spears has extended her Vegas residency for two years. Spear's popular show Piece of Me has been at Planet Hollywood in Vegas since December of 2013. She announced the news at the end of her show on Wednesday night.  " I have some big news tonight. Usually I have you guys help me count to three, but tonight I want you to help me count to two, because I'm gong to be in Vegas for two more years!"

Vivica A. Fox has joined the cast of the Fox hit show Empire for season 2. Fox will take on the role of Cookie's older sister.She will not make her debut until episode eight. Empire season 2 premieres on September 23rd.

Stephen Colbert's debut as host of the The Late Show almost didn't make it to air. During Wednesday's monologue Colbert explained that the original show was over two hours so the editors had to trim it down for its allotted hour. When they tried to send the final edit to the network the computers kept crashing. Finally the file was sent sometime between 11:20 and 11:35pm.
