Basic stuff but I am as guilty as anyone of putting my guns away uncleaned...naughty! Take the two minutes and give the bore a quick cleaning at the very least. Leaving powder and lead in the bore can cause permanent damage if left for a long time. Of course there are many ways to clean a bore...but the bore snake is so handy I suggest having one in your range bag so you can clean the gun right away.
