After leaving an ice cream shop, a young boy about 8 years old offers to wipe down my car with a barely damp old tattered shirt. I agree and let him work. There are a lot of dirt roads down here and the car can get dusty fast which it did get. Normally he'd probably only see about 100 Gourdes (currency) on a good day walking around doing odd jobs like many hard working Haitians just looking for work. This comes out to barely a couple dollars US. I only asked him to wipe the windshield and windows. He takes extra time to wipe the WHOLE car front to back. I didn't have much cash on me, but still decided to give him 1,000 gds (almost 20US) and told him to split it with his mom/family. It's enough to to eat and get little essentials for days out here. He had told me part of his home burned down and lost his school uniform and hasn't been able to go due to his mother not being able to afford. I was happy to be able to help even if not much. This isn't to brag... I hope this can inspire anybody reading to do something nice today even if not monetary. Lend a helping hand in any way. You never know what somebody is going through. Pay it forward. Imagine if everybody did one nice small gesture to another person in need what type of effect it'd have on the world and how it could potentially come back to you 10fold❗️🤔 .
