Damaged wastewater plant back online

Officials announced on Thursday April 7, 2011, that raw sewage is no longer being dumped into the Little Pigeon River. Full treatment is not yet restored, but the plant is operating normally. They are still looking into the cause of the catastrophic collapse at the treatment plant basin that killed two workers and sent nearly 1 million gallons of raw sewage into the Little Pigeon River Tuesday night.
