--Overall Comments--

In the season 8 mid-season finale, Chrysalis returns to exact her revenge on Starlight Glimmer.  Creating nasty clones on the Mane 6, she hopes to destroy their friendships so Starlight loses her friends.

Chrysalis’ return also harkens a return of her score and instrumentation, which we’ve heard for her since her original appearance at the end of season 2.  Also, since the episode is focused upon the strength of the friendships of the Mane 6, William Anderson fittingly brings back the classic “Magic of Friendship” motif which has been with the show since season 3, and used extensively since then.
