In this episode (#53), we see more photos and footage (thanks to "Acorn Place" http://placeofacorns.blogspot.com) of the August 9 flash flood on Ithaca's waterfalls, including the swimming area at the Lower Falls at Robert H. Treman State Park and Taughannock Falls at Taughannock Falls State Park. We also take a look at the 3rd annual "Movie Under the Stars" at Taughannock Falls State Park; seeing clips from the silent film, "The Lottery Man," made at the Wharton Studios in what is now Stewart Park in Ithaca nearly a century ago; presented by the Ithaca Motion Picture Project, http://www.ithacamotionpictureproject.org. Finally, we see three short "Park Minute" videos I made about Watkins Glen State Park, accompanied by beautiful photographs by Nigel Peterson Benson Kent (http://nigelpkent.com). Join me, Tony Ingraham, as we visit parks in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, across the US, and around the world. As a former career state park ranger and environmental educator and interpreter, I am moved to share my love of our beautiful and historic landscapes. I have two series: Walk in the Park, a half hour show from public access TV in Ithaca, NY, and Park Minute. Each shows weekly. Find out more on my website http://walkinpark.com.
