1932 was a momentous year for Australia. It was the year of Bodyline and Bradman. The Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened. And it was the year the Australian Broadcasting Commission was established, and with it the group of musicians that would become the Sydney Symphony. Since this time, the Sydney Symphony has developed into Australia's flagship orchestra with 100 musicians performing over 200 concerts a year to some 300,000 people.
