If Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg had any say in the matter, steroid users would never be in the Hall of Fame.

The ongoing debate on if steroid users should be voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame is never-ending, and after this year's voting it looks like we could be one step closer to both Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens getting the nod. But Ryne Sandberg doesn't want to see that happen. Sandberg, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005, wants voters to award players who played by the rules and didn’t jeopardize the game’s integrity over just statistics. During his 2005 induction ceremony Sandberg gave a passionate speech where he touched on the integrity of baseball, and how hitting home runs shouldn't be valued over how to play the rest of the game. Although that speech was given 13 years ago, Sandberg’s opinions are still the same about players who juiced in the league. Sandberg also talked about choosing baseball over going to Washington State University on a football scholarship. After getting drafted in the 20th round in the 1978 MLB Draft, Sandberg made the decision to forgo his football scholarship to play pro ball after getting advice from his brother. Sandberg also weighed in on if the National League should implement a designated hitter, he also talked about the history of the Bleacher Bums at Wrigley Field as well as what it was like for the Chicago Cubs to finally win a World Series in 2016.
