Eggs, especially in larger amounts, are in short supply and when available are 2x to 3x more expensive than normal.  These 2 combined clips show people standing in very long zig-zagging lines to buy eggs at a government sponsored farmer's market close to Jutuchak Market at near normal prices.  Most appear to be people in the small restaurant business.  
Unreliable and non-useful information, coupled with nightly reports on only the worst hit areas, has created anxieties that have exacerbated the shortages as people began stockpiling weeks in advance of the floodwaters, and they continue to do so when food is available.  Shortages include UHT milk, bottled juices, toilet tissue, dried noodles, etc.    
Flooding around Thailand *is* serious and very extensive, but for example, this area of town has been told that it is to be flooded every day for 2 weeks and expectations of water depth are constantly reset from 20 cms to 2.5 meters.  Those who can afford it simply leave their homes in the hands of a caretaker and depart for a resort elsewhere.
