My friends know I am looking for electrical items I can disassemble to harvest the components for bot projects. I have been given this ancient Cable TV box so I have taken it apart and had a look inside. Looks like a selection of capacitors are salvageable for use in such things as solar poppers. There are several voltage regulators, a few odd diodes and resistors. A few LEDs and an IR detector. A 4 digit digital display and some momentary push switches. Also a few crystals. The capacitors are probably the only items that will really be useful to me. I really need to find some older electrical goods with more discrete components like maybe a record player.
