It's been a while since I've filmed and uploaded anything, so I packed my camera and brought it to the very first place I attempted to film HD at... the park is called X-Plex, and it's located about 10 minutes from my home (Hammond) in Springfield, Louisiana. When I feel like skating transition and my local park is crazy hectic, I ride out to Springfield for two reasons: 1. More orderly sessions where you don't have to worry about someone coming out of nowhere then BOOM everyone's knocked out and bleeding. 2. The three foot quarters. I like the whole park, the six foot mini, the vert wall, and all that, but the little three foot quarters are super fun because you can try nearly anything and not worry about getting broken off too bad... I'm not saying you can't knock the crap out of yourself on a three footer, but they tend to be a LOT more forgiving than a six footer. Plus the ramps are wood so it doesn't hut like concrete. Of note: my friend Shane (the owner of the park) told me that I was the first skateboarder to make that last transfer... it had been done by one other guy on a bike. It's not really a big transfer, the vert wall is only about two feet back, it's just that the landing is really tight and it's easy to run into the wall. I'm sure that within a week a bunch of the young guns are going to be doing flip tricks into it... it'll be sick to see that. Random: Skateboard however you want to. It's nobody's business but your own. You don't suck if you're having fun. Skate forever. I'm representing Small Time Skates in Hammond, and props to Shane at X-Plex for documenting the last transfer. Stoked.
