Here it is finally after a lot of work on my behalf. I ended up with 3 parts to this guide. It was a lot longer than at first anticipated, but everything I have learned is covered. Please watch all 3 parts to get the full effect of what I am sharing. This is what the parts consist of:

The basics of pulleys, gearboxes, and platforms. How they work and best ways to set them up. Also all the switches and wiring necessary to make this build.

The main construction of putting what we learn in part 1 together. For those who have the basic knowledge of redstone and pulleys, feel free to begin the tutorial here. Although I would love to see equal views on all 3 videos :-)
