Opening Ceremonies

2011 World War II Weekend
Reading Regional Airport/Carl A. Spaatz Field
Reading, Pennsylvania
Saturday June 4, 2011

As is customary with every World War II Weekend, it is opened up with a re-enactment of USAAF General Douglas MacArthur giving a short speech, introducing a young Navy Lieutenant - also giving a short speech, and then the introduction of then-President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Following that, Theresa Eamon, who lived in Reading, PA, sings the National Anthem as well as God Bless America. She did a great job with both!

I apologize for the black or white blips in the video, as I have yet to figure out what causes it.

If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
