Adil Rashid’s 3/49, Eoin Morgan’s 88 and Joe Root’s 100 ended India’s winning streak in ODI bilaterals. England chased down a target of 257 with eight wickets and a whopping 33 balls remaining. India’s top order gave away early and Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik provided some resistance. But after their dismissals, India went on a downward spiral and managed to cross the 250-run mark only because of some rearguard action by Shardul Thakur. England got off to a flying start thanks to Jonny Bairstow. Root and Morgan’s unbeaten 186-run stand pretty much killed the match long before the former hit the winning runs.
