A plumber was attacked and his vehicle set on fire Friday morning when he responded to a call in in Sydney's west. Police, firefighters and paramedics had to evacuate the area Mariana Crescent, Lethbridge Park after learning the plumber had highly flammable acetylene tanks in his Toyota Hilux. Police believe the plumber was set up because no one answered the door when he arrived at 8am. The plumber was attacked by two men when he entered the backyard of the house. The men repeatedly kicked and punched him in the face. Afterwards they set fire to his SUV before fleeing the scene. Police, firefighters and paramedics had to evacuate 80 to 100 individuals from a 200 meter exclusion zone because of the dangers presented by the hot acetylene tanks. Almost all of the residents were allowed to return to their homes after lunch time.
