Korbel, the maker of American Champagne, is one of the oldest wineries in Calfiornia, and its right on Route 29. We couldnt resist. The company was started in the 1880s by the Korbel brothers from Czechoslovakia who thought timeber was the key to their success. By 1882 the brothers were also producing 20 to 30,000 gallons of wine from their vineyards. Their wine was so popular that they decided to devote all of their energies to this enterprise. The company is till going strong.
