NASA's Langley Research Center Clouds and Earth’s Radiant Energy System (CERES) project team members explain why we measure clouds in space. CERES Flight Model 6 (FM6) is scheduled to launch no earlier than at 4:47 a.m. EST (1:47 a.m. PST) Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 aboard the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Joint Polar Satellite System-1 (JPSS-1) from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. CERES FM6 is the final flight model in a family of instruments that provide valuable Earth radiation data.
