My raft in the sky is coming along nicely, but what do I do for food? Filling your stomach with delicious steak and bread is old; don't be so silly. The new craze is to look up, open your mouth, and let the rain fill you to the brim like a pint glass at a good pub.

Minecraft is a sandbox construction game created by Mojang AB founder Markus Persson, and inspired by the Infiniminer, Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper games. Gameplay involves players interacting with the game world by placing and breaking various types of blocks in a three-dimensional environment. In this environment, players can build creative structures, creations, and artwork on multiplayer servers and singleplayer worlds across multiple game modes

In Survival, players have an inventory in which they may gather items. These items may be combined using certain recipes to create tools and other items. This process is known as crafting. Most crafting recipes need a crafting table. Some items cannot be obtained through crafting normally and require a furnace for processing. Various other crafting stations exist for advanced uses, such as brewing, repairing, and enchanting.

In Survival mode, the player is able to receive damage from the environment and from hostile mobs (unless playing on Peaceful). If the player receives enough damage, they will die and return to their spawn point.
