Quickly usurping Jökulsárlón as my favourite spot in Iceland. You've got to leave Route 1 and go a couple of kilometres over rough track to get here but, my God, is it worth it. Each time I've been here there's been NO ONE there except for us, and it is SILENT (except for occasional distant ice cracks or something falling down a chasm). It's eerie as Hell and equally beautiful.
