Jakob Maria Mierscheid is known for saying things most politicians would never dare. The Social Democrat,who has been a member of Germany's parliament since 1979,is known for his bizarre and provocative comments. Yet the 76-year-old never attends parliamentary sessions. Mierscheid,a retired tailor from Rhineland-Palatinate,is the fictional creation of two former MPs. Politicians and the media have been playing along for decades now.
