About a hundred Airborne qualified Pathfinder students, cadre and members from the Warrior Training Center got a unique opportunity to conduct a night mass tactical Airborne jump. The Paratroopers jumped from two C-130s with combat gear and weapons from about a thousand feet. It took just over four minutes to get all the jumpers from the plane to the ground. After their jump, Pathfinder students set up and secured another drop zone as part of a follow on mission and their final ftx before graduation. The event is not part of the normal Pathfinder course, but was a joint training exercise between Dobbins Air Force Base and Fort Benning. It allowed both the pilots and Paratroopers to get real world mass tactical jump experience to prepare for future missions down range.
