Ryan Buell, Founder and President of Buell Wetsuits made in Santa Cruz, California, has nearly two decades of experience designing and testing wetsuits in this surf-rich area. His dedication to supporting not only the local surf scene, but surfing on a global scale has lead a mission to serve high performance athletes who rely on technical equipment that can take a heavy beating. Team riders include: Santa Cruz locals Ken "Skindog" Collins, Josh Loya, Savannah Shaughnessy, Austin Smith-Ford, and Brazilian World Tour competitors Adriano de Souza and Raoni Monteiro.

"We are pretty serious about making high performance wetsuits, for intermediate to experienced surfers. We are also all about having fun," Buell said in an interview with Santa Cruz Waves. "The surf industry has gotten too stuffy, the lines are too straight and the logos are too corporate. Our color ways and designs are fun and we are not afraid to put eyeballs on our booties."
