(12 Dec 2018) French police authorities confirmed that the Strasbourg Christmas market, venue of a deadly shooting attack would remain closed on Thursday. Jean-Luc Marx, police prosecutor of the Grand East region and Bas-Rhin in France, also told reporters that all schools will be opened for school children. The shooting rampage killed two, left one person brain dead and injured 12 others. A photo of Cherif Chekatt, 29, who was born in Strasbourg, was distributed publicly Wednesday evening. Hundreds of police and soldiers were combing Strasbourg in a search of him, blocking bridges that cross the border into Germany.
