Something Amazing by Stuart Semple for the Fertility Partnership 

On the morning of the 1st September 2016, the contemporary artist Stuart Semple unveiled his commission ‘Something Amazing’ for the Fertility Partnership simultaneously across six locations in the UK.

Chelmsford: High Street
Glasgow: Royal Exchange Square
London: Golden Square
Nottingham: Bridlesmith Gate
Oxford: Radcliffe Square
Southampton: West Quay

The project, commissioned by The Fertility Partnership, aims to raise awareness of the lack of female egg donors in the UK. 

Giant sculptural clusters of balloons appeared at sunrise across UK streets. 

On the day, Stuart gave away 1000 signed and numbered limited edition screen prints on foil balloons, asking members of the public to share their valuable gift with a stranger. This altruistic act of passing on something precious was an invitation to enter into a dialogue around the selfless act of donating an egg. 

Stuart Says:
“If more women knew they could donate an egg and help another, then I think they would. But of course it’s a big ask. It’s one of the most altruistic and full on things a woman can do.”
