Video Cooking Demonstration and recipe for luscious light crispy Savoury Ricotta Hotcakes, using the Thermochef. These even taste nice cold. Give them a try for a light, quick and easy breakfast or brunch.
INGREDIENTS:
150 grams of ricotta cheese and tomato relish
125 grams light milk
2 eggs separated
120 grams self raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
20 grams butter for frying
METHOD:
Whisk egg whites until frothy and set aside.
To the Thermochef jug add milk, yolks,baking powder, salt and flour. Speed 2 for 10 seconds
add ricotta and relish then speed 1 for 10 seconds
add egg whites speed 1 for 10 seconds.
Cook over medium heat in hot buttered pan about 2 minutes each side. Carefully turning over after bubbles have formed on the raw side. This mix is very light and fluffy, take care when turning not to break them.
Serve with grilled bacon and cooked tomato and onion or gravy.
