Eastern Shore Maryland Bass Fishing Smithville Lake Pickerel Fish

Well I was bass fishing, but this lake seems to be infested with Pickerel! I landed a new Personal Best Pickerel at 25 ¼ inches! I burned through YUM wooly bugs and Missile baits D bombs. I also used big bite baits creature bait from my MTB and some fish hog worms from my May Lucky Tackle Box. I tried a variety of colors, but my favorite is Okeechobee, which I think is preferred by the bass around these parts. I used the desert storm and bruiser colors for the D bombs and caught both pickerel and bass on both. The Fish hog worm Texas rigged weightless was a better presentation over the pads, then my SPRO pivot frog which hangs up easily in heavy cover.
