With winter approaching I am cutting fire wood all the time now to heat our off grid tiny house. I cut a whole lot of fire wood out in the forest the other day and I am still hauling that back to the homestead. This was from dead standing pine trees and larger fallen oak branches. There are very few oaks on our land but some are quite large and there are some branches that can be used to heat our home a bit. I plan to use pine to heat by day and oak at night for a longer burn. Pine burns fine if you burn it hotter so its best for daytime use. And the dead standing pine is already cured. It just has to dry a bit before use. I cut the last of the logs that were behind the tiny house and sorted them. The larger ones that need to be split go into a pile out back. The smaller ones that are already good size for our wood stove go up front and get stacked for this winter's heating. I hope to have six cords of fire wood this year using a mix of soft and hard wood. Thanks for watching. Please Subscribe & follow my daily videos.
